Creating in an abstract expressionist way allows me to use the paintbrush as a guide to convey an emotional response through these intuitively created marks and strokes. I love to follow the edge of a color to create an entirely new shape. I love the flexibility and freedom that occurs just by allowing my hand to move freely with the brush. This series of paintings focuses on paths and lines; in the figurative and literal sense. While you engage with this art, an instant may evoke a feeling within you; follow that path and see where it leads you. Absorb and take in the strokes of color, the lines, the texture, and all of the interactions happening throughout the composition. Do you see a part of yourself in these creations? Pay attention to the emotions and feelings occurring in these paintings. Remember, that is the purpose of art, to feel. That’s the purpose of everything. What are you creating and engaging in that makes you feel? Thank you for stepping into this moment; allowing me to share part of my soul with you through my art. I'm allowing the art within me, to move through me, and then beyond me.
